In the spirit of highlighting what was overlooked and not what is obvious, they are not included here. This does NOT include the Album of the Year Nominees since they’ve already had a spotlight shined on them through the nomination process.Along with that are included other albums that were reviewed with a positive grade in 2017, along with a list of other records that are either awaiting review, are “on the radar,” or should otherwise be considered worth checking out. 2017 was a bumper crop year for great country and roots records, and this is reflected in Saving Country Music’s 2017 Essential Albums list, which has expanded once again to include a total of 65 albums, each of which was reviewed in-depth during the year, and each which can be seen with a summation of the review below.
